Washington, D.C. — Polo returns to the National Mall on Saturday, June 21, as The District Cup Foundation hosts its 8th annual charity tournament. The event brings together diplomats, lawmakers, business leaders, and young professionals for a day of sport, culture, and philanthropy.

At the center of this year’s event is its charitable mission. The District Cup is proud to partner with The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which supports children with serious illnesses and their families.

“Throughout our history, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp has been fortunate for the community of friends who have helped us continue to expand programming to reach ever more children with serious illnesses and their families,” said Robin Farrell, Chief Development Officer. “As we now deepen our outreach in the Mid-Atlantic and move towards opening our second location on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the spring of 2026, we are grateful to The District Cup Polo for providing an important platform to share our mission with new friends and supporters.”

Since its founding, The District Cup has raised over $250,000 for nonprofits and generated more than $3 million in local economic impact. This year’s theme, Heritage Polo Passport, invites guests will receive a passport to stamp to explore culturally inspired pavilions created in collaboration with embassies and cultural groups. The tournament begins with a celebrity and VIP penalty shootout, followed by matches between six teams competing for three titles: the Washington Cup, the Cultural Polo Cup, and the District Cup Trophy.

The 2025 edition is supported by several civic and diplomatic partners, including the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proud to sponsor The District Cup Polo Tournament, a celebration of friendship, heritage, and diplomacy through sport, taking place on the iconic National Mall in Washington, D.C.”

Events DC also continues to champion the event’s growth.

“We are excited to support the 8th Annual District Polo Cup, a premier event that showcases Washington, DC as a world-class destination,” said Angie M. Gates, President and CEO of Events DC. “This tournament reinforces our city’s reputation as the Sports Capital while uniting the community for lasting impact.”
