Polo has been played on the National Mall for more than 100 years

Rooted in over a century of tradition, The District Cup (TDC) is a premier charity polo tournament held annually on the National Mall, celebrating sport, culture, and purpose.

The annual event has become a cornerstone of Washington D.C.’s social, sporting and cultural scene, drawing thousands of guests from around the world — including young professionals, diplomats, members of Congress, chiefs of staff, C-suite executives, and more.

Our Charitable Initiatives

Over the past eight years, The District Cup has raised more than $350,000 for local nonprofits and generated over $3 million in economic impact for the region. Beyond its philanthropic reach, the TDC Foundation champions the transformative power of sport and community, creating polo scholarships that open doors for underserved youth in the DMV. In partnership with the Jamaur Law Foundation, these scholarships make the game of polo more accessible, fostering opportunity, empowerment, and lasting impact for the next generation.

Our 2025 + 2026 Charitable Partner: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

This year, TDC is proud to partner with The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a nonprofit founded in 1988 by Paul Newman to bring “a different kind of healing” to children living with serious illnesses. Each year, the camp provides life-changing experiences free of charge to thousands of children and their families, offering joy, hope, and a sense of community when they need it most.

In 2025, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp will open a new facility on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This space will serve families across the greater Washington DC region, including those in the rare disease community, and ensure even more children have access to the healing power of play, connection, and care.
